These Garnet were hand mined by yours truly from the abandoned Hooper Mine on Gore Mtn in the Adirondacks ♥️⛰️💪🏼

The Garnet Mines at Gore Mountain in North River, New York are home to some of the world’s largest and hardest garnets. The garnets are found in garnet amphibolite, a rock formation that’s sometimes called “black ore” or “dark ore”. Geologists believe the garnets’ large size is due to high temperatures and fluids introduced during metamorphism around 1050 million years ago. The Barton garnet, in particular, is known for its ruby red color and was designated New York’s state gemstone in 1969 by Governor Nelson Rockefeller. These are the hardest garnets in the world and are found only on Gore Mountain - making the garnet extremely rare.

Garnet is one of the most well-known stones in the world and is particularly effective at cleansing and reenergizing all chakras in the body. It helps to stimulate passion and creativity and is very beneficial when working with Kundalini energy. Garnet can be used to practice Kundalini activation and is said to help with engaging a controlled rise of the energy.

Known as a stone of courage, it has for many years been used in a protective capacity, with some wearing it as a talisman to guard against danger.

Physically and energetically garnet has a strong connection to the pituitary gland, which aids in past life recall. This stone also physically works to purify and energize the circulatory system including the blood, heart and lungs.

Garnets embody many similar properties to rubies, however many find the energy of garnets more agreeable than rubies as they transmit a softer feminine energy.
